Insurance Development Associate Program

Fisher-Brown, Inc and The Bottrell Insurance Agency offer a challenging and rewarding Insurance Development Associate (IDA) Program lasting approximately twelve months in either Jackson, MS (Bottrell), or Pensacola, FL (Fisher-Brown).  The IDA Program parallels Trustmark’s Management Development Associate Program and provides similar training and experiences in the insurance industry.  The program is designed to prepare the IDA for a career in either insurance sales (production) or service (account management or marketing) by providing knowledge of agency operations, on-the-job training, and an understanding of the various departments, services and products of Bottrell, Fisher-Brown and Trustmark.

While on the program, the IDA will work closely with Fisher-Brown and/or Bottrell associates to gain a working knowledge of the insurance industry.  As well as on-the-job training, the IDA will visit various departments within Trustmark and participate in leadership classes, professional development classes, and communication classes.

The IDA Program is both unique and flexible in that it allows the IDA to be exposed to all angles of the insurance industry.  During the program, the IDA and Fisher Brown or Bottrell will determine how the skill sets of the IDA can best be utilized for the agency’s and the IDA’s career development.  Upon successful completion of the IDA Program and insurance licensing exams, the IDA will be placed in sales as a Producer, in service as an Account Manager I, or in Marketing as a Marketing Manager I. 
Program Requirements:

• A four year college degree is required, preferably in a business-related area with an insurance concentration.  However, all majors will be considered.
• The minimum GPA considered will be a 2.5 overall in an undergraduate or advanced degree.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as demonstrated leadership, professionalism, organization, and time management skills are required.
• Previous sales or service experience is also preferred.
• Must be able to work in US without visa sponsorship by employer.
